Your test client
When you create a workspace, we automatically create and invite a test client using your email. In your email inbox you should see an email with the subject "{yourCompanyName} portal: Accept your invitation." To explore the client experience, all you have to do is click the link in that email — this will log you into your portal as the test client.
Exploring the client experience
We recommend opening the Copilot Dashboard (dashboard.copilot.app) with your internal user in one browser tab and the portal with your test client in another. Once you have that set up, you can try some workflows to get a sense of what working with real clients will be like. For example:
As an internal user, send a message to the test client and then reply as your test client.
As an internal user, assign a form to your test client and then submit the form as your test client.
As an internal user, upload files in the test client’s Files channel and then view the files as your test client.
Emails notifications
Email notifications are skipped when the other party is active in the Copilot Dashboard or portal. So if you're not seeing any notifications, that's why. To test email notifications, just close the other party's browser tab.
Some email notifications are delivered instantly; others are delayed by 5 minutes. We implemented these delays so that if multiple events happen in a short period, only a single email is sent. For example, if you send 15 messages and upload 15 files within 5 minutes, the client will receive only 2 emails instead of 30.
